Ok book, character development is almost non existant, but the story line it self is ok.

Not sure if ill read the followup books

This was alright. Fast paced (in a "meh" way) and high level, whereas I prefer my space ship warfare to be a little bit more detailed. A few sops thrown to other characters (
Spoilerthe failed "mutiny"
) but this book is 100% about the captain. It's.....nothing special, but it was entertaining enough that I'll read the second one. There are some interesting possibilities for world-building but I'm not going to hold my breath that they pan out.

When my husband convinced me to read this book, I was skeptical. It certainly is not the genre I reach for, and the military feel and terminology is not what I typically appreciate in a fiction novel.

However, I got into the story and thought it was a lot of fun! A quick, easy read, I’ll probably pull up the second book at some point.

Great reading from Dalzelle. It's refreshing to read this series where the primary enemy isn't a human faction. Enjoyed this very much. Well written.

The XO; female, had an impressive rack; of medals!

The ensign; female, had a shapely body!

Writing for schoolboys; of all ages!

Several cuts above most military scifi out there. It’s fun scifi with an authentic military twist by someone who can write well. Thumbs up from me.

This book was fan-fucking-tastic. A real page turner. I'm so happy to find a new author with a bibliography large enough to to keep me entertained for a while.
