I love the introduction of Misa, it really adds a whole other level to an already fantastic plot. And it never gets old seeing how intelligent L is, so close, yet so far.

This volume was such a delight. I loved the introduction of, ahhh, feminine chaos shall, we call it! The new character here is such a great foil for Light. He's sitting there stroking his chin trying to be all cool and calculated, and in comes a wrecking ball of impulsive, intuitive energy that forces him to think on his feet.

The pressure closing in is so intense here. Another great volume in the series!

I really wasn't all that impressed with this installment; it felt very repetitive and, compared to the first volume, nothing special. To top that off, add how badly Misa was portrayed and just ... ugh, no. What this story needed was a badass female character, not some lovesick puppy who's a-okay with being used and abused. It was a hard slog.

Things are starting to pick up here. I am really enjoying all the inner dialogue of Light and L about all the puzzles they are trying to solve. My only real problem is Misa. I remember her being my favorite character, and in this reread, I kinda just found her annoying. I know that is how her character is supposed to be, but still.
Still a very enjoyable book.
