4 stars - Ms. Angie rarely misses. A very strong new MG series
Loved Nic. Loved Alex and JP. Loved the hell hound pup sidekick. To me, this was slightly derivative of the other MG fantasies that I've also loved. But I'm still excited to see where it goes!

Angie Thomas's writing is great as usual and flows along. It felt like a fairly standard MG novel but the narration made it twice as good.
