This is the first book I have read from Entangled Publishing and if all of them are this good I know this is not going to be a publisher I forget! It is also the first book I have read by Rosalie Lario and I already want to get my hands on the next book in the series. Okay, I am jumping ahead of myself, let me back up and tell you about this book before I talk about the next one.
Blood of the Demon is the first book in Rosalie’s Demons of the Infernum series. The series focuses on the lives of four half-demon brothers who live in New York and are fighting to rid the world of evil. They serve a council from their world that sends them on missions to protect various planets and its inhabitants. For the purposes of Blood of the Demon, the brothers are protecting Earth from a sadistic demon who also happens to be their father, Mammon.
The brother we get the pleasure of getting to know in this book is Keegan. He is the oldest of the four and the one who carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. He is extremely protective of his three brothers and often feels like he let them down by not getting them all away from their monstrous father fast enough. Keegan is very hard on himself and does not give into his own needs, ever. Until Brynn. She is the owner of an art gallery and has a couple talents of her own. She can drain human energy and she has the ability to get the history of an inanimate object just by touching it. She is thrown into Keegan’s world when he kidnaps her, but tells her he is doing it to protect her. Brynn wants to believe him when he tells her it is for her benefit, but she still has a nagging feeling she is not getting the whole story out of him or his brothers.
In true paranormal romance fashion we get the viewpoints of our main characters Brynn and Keegan, but there are a couple of other characters who we get to peek inside briefly. The brothers take over a couple of times and even the villain, Mammon, gets to tell his side of the story. The multiple viewpoints are always something I love about this genre and this book was no exception. With the various perspectives we get many facets of the story and it only entices you to read further. It also helps the reader to form an attachment to all four brothers, not just Keegan, which I am sure will be beneficial in future books. The brothers share witty banter that had me laughing out loud. Their relationship served as the comic relief on multiple occasions. It is also clear that they are a very tight knit group and would do anything for each other. I quickly grew attached to the foursome and at the climax of the story I found myself getting choked up because of their close bond and the way they were reacting to the situation they found themselves in. It was easy to see how much they meant to each other and get caught up in the emotional roller coaster with them.
Since Blood of the Demon is the first in series, Rosalie does take time to explain the world, but the explanations do not bog down the story or slow the plot. Sometimes first books in series can take too much time to explain the world so, the story building and character connection is lost. This is not case for this book. I was fully engrossed in the mythology and soaking up every detail that Rosalie gave to us.
Keegan and Brynn are faced with threats at every turn. They barely have time to catch their breath while they are fighting for their lives, and each other. The action and the romance in this novel are balanced perfectly. Rosalie gives you just enough of each to keep you satisfied, but always wanting just a little bit more. It all leads up to a heart pounding climax that literally had me on the edge of my seat as it unfolded. I started and finished this book in the same day because there was no way I was going to put it down without knowing how it all came to a close.
Overall, Blood of the Demon is a fantastic new paranormal romance series that I am dying to get more of. Rosalie left us with resolution for now, but set up the next book nicely. Luckily, I only have to wait until for September for it to come out, which is awesome because I have not had enough of these brothers and cannot wait to dive back into their world. If you are looking for a new paranormal romance that has intriguing new mythology, exhilarating action and some scorching hot romance, then look no further than Blood of the Demon.

SMALL SPOILERS !!
Brynn is a normal girl...apart from having a small power....until the gorgeous Keegan walks into her gallery, clocks her one and she wakes up in a bed, wondering what on earth happened.
I have to admit I found that beginning a little distasteful, I didn't expect Keegan to actually punch her. Fair enough he heals her but it felt very wrong.
I really liked Brynn, she was fairly normal compared to other female characters in this genre, but I actually that likeable about her, she was strong without being too feminist. The only thing that really annoyed me was that she did have a couple of powers, one being the energy drain thing but I felt it wasn't explored enough...it was useless against demons so she basically didnt do anything with it. It would have been nice to see if this power could grow and become more powerful.
Keegan was fab....in fact whilst reading this part of me is hoping for my own half demon/dragon. (Altho I am still loyal to Ash from Dark Hunter series)
He was strong, brave and loyal and completely likeable. There actually wasn't anything I didn't like about his character.
I loved his brothers too and I can only guess that is the start of a new series and hopefully the other books containing their stories. I can't even say which one I want to read about the most, because they all interested me.
There was some great writing here, and a great story and a great bad guy.
In a way I actually hope this is not the last of Mammon that we see, I have a feeling he might make a great escape or summit, but could be wishful thinking, but I do look forward to seeing what his second in command has to offer.
Definately another series for me I will continue to read.

This was kind of hilarious. The hero is half dragon, half demon, and he and his brothers have come to earth to stop their evil father from trying to create an army of zombies, using an ancient Egyptian book. Obviously he falls in love with a spunky human and much boinking ensues.
A really interesting start to the series. I was easily pulled in and intrigued from the start. The characters are engaging and very real.
The pace of the story was steady and flowed nicely. I liked the Egyptian angle and the demons.
Brynn and Keegan are a great couple. They match each other very nicely! Loads of drama for them!!
The steamy could have been a bit hotter. But is was nicely done.
I am eager to see where this series is headed!
Cover Art - I could lick it cause it is delicious!!

Keegan and his brothers have been assigned to stop their father from starting the apocalypse but in order to do so Keegan must protect the one person that holds the key to everything. Unsure of how to approach Brynn he knocks her unconscious and kidnaps her.
One minute Brynn is making deals with herself for an early night and the next she is waking up to find she’s been kidnapped by the sexy guy who had walked in to her gallery. She starts to panic but takes reassurance from the fact she has a way to protect herself, something she has always kept secret. Much to her horror though, her talent doesn't seem to work on him at all.
Brynn appears to be terrified about what's going to happen to her so Keegan decides to try to explain the situation and why they need to protect her. As Brynn learns about their abilities she starts to think of the brothers as superheroes and it's a notion that Keegan doesn't want to dispel. They tell her about Mammon, the Book of the Dead and the zombie army that he is planning on raising with her help but Brynn seems to struggle with the concept as it seems too farfetched.
Brynn convinces Keegan to take her back to her apartment so she can collect some of her things but Mammon has found her and sent a group of Demons to acquire her. Brynn can't believe her eyes when she sees the things that had fought with the brothers. They aren't human. Keegan again tries to explain things to her and shocks her even further with his confession that he's a Demon as well.
After leaving Brynn for a while to collect her thoughts, Keegan tries to talk to her again. Brynn is still a bit dubious about everything Keegan is telling her and asks him if she can 'read' something of his. She uses her other power to 'read' the memories that are held in his necklace and is shocked by the life that Keegan had as a child. She can't believe that anyone could treat their son's the way he and his brothers had been treated and realises that Keegan is an inherently good person. When she lets go of the necklace and the past that she witnessed, she's in Keegan's arms. As emotions pour through both of them, they come so close to kissing before Keegan freaks out and drops the bombshell that she is also part Demon!
After the Demon attack the brothers decide its best to relocate, split up and see if a hunch leads anywhere. But can they stop Mammon and avoid having to follow the Councils directives. With the tension building between Keegan and Brynn will they eventually give in to the temptation?
Keegan is the type of person that takes his responsibilities very seriously. He feels like he has let his brothers down as he wasn't able to protect them from their father when they were young. He finds his feelings for Brynn confusing as they conflict with his duty and might end up causing his brothers to take on a duty that he alone agreed to. The small gestures and concessions he made to try and make Brynn more comfortable only highlighted further his goodness. And what can I say, the rock hard muscles don't really hurt his appeal either!
Even with her world being turned upside down and all the things that she never thought could exist being thrown in her face, Brynn keeps her cool. She doesn't just react, she thinks things through and goes with the facts that she has rather than jumping to conclusions. For someone who has been through what she had as a child and the problems that she must have faced trying to hide her gifts, she seemed like a balanced person with a sense of humour and a backbone of steel, all which I think are impressive character traits.
Taeg, Ronin and Dagan were all such diverse, entertaining characters but it was obvious that they found strength in each other and Keegan. They would do anything for each other, even if it means putting themselves in danger. The brothers clearly didn't feel that Keegan had ever let them down but they also understood he would always have that guilt and would try to protect them.
The trust that Brynn had in Keegan was very sweet, even if it did sometimes feel slightly naive. Once they managed to get past all of their hidden pasts, secrets and half truths it strengthened their relationship and in some ways made them come to terms with what they felt for each other. The sacrifices that they were both willing to make just proved to me that they were meant to be together.
Blood of the Demon is an interesting introduction to the world of Demons, Sirens, Fae and other mystical beings and, personally, I can't wait to find out more about Keegan's brothers, especially Taeg.

While I enjoyed this book, it just wasn't as great as it maybe could have been. I don't know, I think maybe the four brothers and Brynn could have perhaps been a little more bada** than they were.
I really loved the descriptions in this book. most of the time I hate when an author goes back and forth between characters because some of the story can get lost and confusing. However, she found a way to make it a great part of the book. you knew what was going on at different moments with some good chsracters. I thought the story line was fun and exciting. the only thing I didn't like was the ending, it was too abrupt .
I picked this book up free at Amazon a while back. I like the whole demons and angels type of books.
But sadly I must say this one was not one for the win. I liked the concept behind the story but that was about it.
Anything else about this book I didn’t like.
I found it hard to relate or follow to most of the characters, even though there were witty, what I usually like in characters. They just didn’t do it for me.

I won a copy of Blood of the Demon in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway, and I was pretty excited because the book description sounded really cool. Sometimes the book description ends up being the books downfall for me because it can set up expectations that only end up being let down. Blood of the Demon is not one of those books. It's everything it's described to be and more.
Usually when I pick up a book, there are three things that I look for: good characters, strong plot and the writing style. However, in the past few years, I've really become a fan of the paranormal genre, so when I'm reading a paranormal book, I look for the three things I already mentioned, but in addition, I look at the mythology of the book as well, so those are the key things I'm going to hit on in this review.
1. Mythology: In many of the paranormal books I've read, there usually ends up being some kind of mention of demons. Most of the time, it's either in some abstract way or the demon is actually one of the big bad that must be destroyed, so in Blood of the Demon, it was very interesting to learn about these multi-dimensions for various kinds of demons as well has having those demons play a key and lead role in the book.
There was a lot of tidbits mentioned throughout the book about the various kinds of demons, which was fun to learn without being overloaded with too much information that wasn't relevant to the plot. Since this is a part of a series, though, I can see a lot of potential for more information about the demons and their mythology to come into play.
2. Characters: Brynn and Keegan are the main characters with Keegan's brothers - Taeg, Ronin and Dagan - also playing important roles while the opposition is Keegan, Taeg, Ronin, and Dagan's father - Mammon.
I really enjoyed the characters. With four brothers, it would have been easy for their personalities to get lost in the thick of things, but I think they played well off of each other. They also have an unpleasant shared past, which has made their relationships with each other stronger.
Brynn was a strong, strong female, which I really appreciate. Given the circumstances, it would have been easy to make her weak and helpless, so it nice to see her hold her own among these strong men.
Mammon was one sick guy. Totally creepy and power hungry. Reading anything about him just made me want to squirm and then go shower to remove the ick, which, I suppose, you should expect out of a bad guy.
3. Plot: The plot itself was pretty straightforward. Mammon wants to unleash the undead on the Earth so he can rule it as king. In order for his plan to come to fruition, he needs the heir to the Book of the Dead, Brynn, to open it. Keegan and his brothers need to stop him.
I know, I know, that all sounds very simple, but of course things are not that easy. There are twists and turns throughout the book that keep the plot moving forward. Not to mention, complications arise as Keegan and Brynn begin to fall for each other.
There was a lot of action and hide and seek games throughout the book that really kept things exciting and enjoyable to read.
4. Writing Style: I really enjoyed the writing style. It was very easy to read, but didn't feel weak or lazy.
The dialogue was good and always felt natural. Also, there were several action scenes and those always played out really well because they weren't hard to follow or over-explained.
Final Thoughts: Overall, it was just an enjoyable book to read. I could have easily just zoomed right through it, but I chose to take my time and savor the experience.
This book is heavy on the sexy without losing the plot and full of alpha males that you want to let rescue you. It was a thrilling read and an excellent introduction to a new series that left me full of anticipation for the next dangerous and sexy adventure.
