iZombie seriously ups its game in Volume three. Falling and Rising are amazing books, and the Dead Presidents are must read. There was so much going on in these issues that I had to basically read everything twice, and I loved every minute of it. Things are going much deeper than I anticipated, and I'm really excited for the final volume.

See my review of [b:iZombie, Vol. 1: Dead to the World|8493612|iZombie, Vol. 1 Dead to the World|Chris Roberson|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1349051312s/8493612.jpg|13239119] for my overall opinion of the series. This arc admittedly gets more interesting as we really start to learn a bit of the mythology behind the monsters.

If I wanted crazy, Volume 3 delivers, giving us more strange things to worry about in the form of monster hunters and Dead Presidents (probably not exactly what you're thinking...) and zombie hordes and a Big Bad who wants to do, I don't know, bad things, and it doesn't lack for twists and turns. It's a little much, but I have to say that I am clearly loving the action in this series more than anything else, so it worked for me.

The series picks up steam in its third volume, and is really starting to hit its stride. I loved the nod to Scooby Doo in the opening pages, the map of town in the middle of the volume, and the Buffy the Vampire Slayer feel to the overarching adventure. But why did it have to end it on such a cliffhanger? On another note, I enjoyed the bonus chapter at the end of this volume, about Diogenes, a good deal more than the last one about Ellie.

Still think these are smart, fun to read, zombie graphic novels for the casual graphic novel reader like myself.

It's starting to get good. The first one of these introduced the concept (which is awesome), and the second had to do a lot of the heavy expository lifting - here things are starting to gel.

I really dug all of the new characters and subplots.
SpoilerParticularly the maybe-gay ken-doll brother dude (we definitely don't know what he's up to in any way shape or form yet) and the Dead Presidents (are they really those figures, or are the distinctions code names?). I even warmed to the vampires and the Bride of Frankenstein characters, all of whom I'd been kind of sick of in the second one. And a skee ball subplot? Love.
I'm really jiving on the blend of hipster quirk/straight drama blend (as IGN points out). Even the color work feels tongue-in-cheek.

I'm so excited to see both of the Allreds at the Olympia Comics Festival tomorrow. And so freaking glad I finished this before I did!

Okay, now things are just getting weird. The Dead Presidents Society is by far the weirdest thing to come out of this volume, and I don't believe there would be a world where that could assist alongside the Fossor Corp since the Fossor Corp wants to kill all monsters.
I'm going to keep reading the series, because I do love the art and bits of the story. Plus it is a very quick read. But honestly this is just far too campy and I don't know if I can recommend this series to anyone.

This volume felt a bit silly.
