I don't have much to say about this one. It was a good dog tale. I enjoyed it. I think it dragged at times and the plot didn't justify the page count despite the fact it's a lightning quick read, but Bob is a likable little guy and the end was heartwarming.

I love this series so much. While the target audience is younger than me, I really enjoy these light reads. I listened to the audiobook at the same time as reading the ebook, and I really enjoyed hearing Danny Devito voice Bob. I can see how this book could be educational for kids to learn more about dogs and animals as a whole.

I read The One and Only Ivan to my students every year and we always loved it, so when I found out there was more books in the series I had to find out what these beloved characters were up to next. This book is told from Bob the dog’s perspective but we get updates on all of the characters. I love the way this author writes from each animal’s perspective, and is able to sneak in life lessons for humans along the way.

Not the emotional roller coaster that was One and Only Ivan, but I loved getting to know Bob. Definitely a must read for young dog lovers and Applegate fans. I listened to the audiobook, which was read by Danny Devito. He played Bob to a T.

i loved it. the short chapters were good, added suspenseful moments, and i liked the “poem-style” writing. I definitely recommend.

Yikes. It's rare for me to dislike a book so strongly as I did this one... I was especially surprised considering I loved The One and Only Ivan. It really didn't have a plot, or a main conflict, and it certainly didn't help that I wasn't the biggest fan of Bob from the first book. I thought this would be a really heartwarming story about Bob's side of things and life after Exit 8, but it was just 300 pages of Bob trying and failing to explain the world. I listened to the audiobook, which was narrated by Danny DeVito, and since I'm not the biggest fan of his voice—some may even say I strongly dislike it?—it didn't make it a very enjoyable experience. I was really, really disappointed with this, especially as a follow-up to the beautiful masterpiece that was The One and Only Ivan. The only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 is because it still had some decent themes and I liked *most* of the characters (the ones from the original book). I would not recommend this–don't bother.
