There are many things that can be said about this beautiful comic, but it moved me in such a way that I’m honestly stunned by it and couldn’t praise it enough. With its harrowing story, well earned wisdom, fascinating depiction of a world we don’t learn enough about, beautiful drawings of horrifying things, and a great sense of how to tell a joke about the absurdity of life, this is pillar on which not only comics should be held to, but basic autobiographies. Marjane Satrapi has had to endure some horrific things humans should never had to see, but what a unique voice she has came out with, and I wish her a sincere thank you for this stunning comic book.

It really does seem like wonderful things happen when you are willing to listen to others, doesn’t it?

Read this! Read it now, then reread it! Fascinating perspective on an issue we've been fed only one side of. Honest & entertaining.

Satrapi is amazing! I've already rated part one, but decided to buy the "complete" version prior to reading part two. Yet again, Marji blew me away with her story-telling ability and beautiful, impactful black and white art. Long story short: READ THIS BOOK!

Satrapi expertly explains conflict in Iran while weaving in funny and often devestating accounts of her life. I truely couldn't put it down till I was done.

well, here you are, my one hundredth book. An amazing read that really helped me learn a lot about Iran (a place I know much too little about). Really amazing.

I really enjoyed this graphic novel; I didn’t know much about Iran or the religion at all, even less during this time period. Marjane Satrapi makes it so easy to read and understand by sharing her own story, I really recommend it.

3.5 stars. I enjoyed learning about Satrapi's story in graphic novel form.
