thank you for this book rupi
There are a lot of pretty deep things in here, also a lot of things I could relate to myself. I definitely think there is something in here for every woman.
This is really hard to rate for me.
But let me begin with the most important thing.
DO NOT READ this book if you get triggered by (detailed) mentions of rape. I feel like it is really important to mention this, as the first time I've read Milk and Honey, I was really taken by surprise. Same again with The Sun and Her Flowers.
Let's start with the things I didn't like. I didn't like how a great part of this book was almost the same/really similar to Milk and Honey. The chapters didn't work as well for this book as it did for Milk and Honey, some verses felt out of place and the overall "storyline" wasn't great.
BUT I really liked a few chapters of it, I liked those so much that I couldn't give this book a lower rating than 4 stars.
The verses that I really loved talked about themes like feminism, the history of women from her country and the verses talking about her mom.
I would recommend it, as it is a quick read that could maybe open your eyes to some topics.

Much better than milk and honey. I felt calm and understood when reading this book. It was comforting and relatable to most if not all women. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. In the last chapter god was mentioned a bit too much for my taste since I’m not religious and it isn’t something I believe in. She did such a good job<3

Rupi Kaur does it again. I loved that there are longer poems in this book. Her powerful poems elicit emotions in me so deeply profound I can barely contain them all.
