I’m a bit disappointed by how little I enjoyed this book. Rupi Kaye’s milk and honey resonated with me far more, which is why I purchased her second book of poetry. Unfortunately, very few, if any, of the poems in this collection connected to me at all. Perhaps I’m at a different point in my life. Perhaps the content is more different than I expected. Either way, it was not for me.

Beautifully written and raw, despite the lack of poetic devices and a few awkward pauses.

i like rupi kaur’s poetry and i’m not afraid to admit it!!!!!

I loved much about this collection and was also slightly disappointed. I loved the poem that inspired the structure of the book and I thought the blooming section was absolutely beautiful. The other sections seemed slightly hit or miss. There are some absolute gems in here but also some odd notes that didn't resonate with me personally. I was absolutely delighted with kaur's art work in this volumn. In some ways it was more poignant, intriguing and emotive then the poetry. I feel in love with many of her art pieces in this project. For those alone I think this book is worth the read. Modern poetry has it's critics but I have come to enjoy it as it's own genre and kaur has a distinct view and voice I have come to enjoy even if not every poem resonates.
