I remain impressed despite the hype. Milk & Honey has hit after hit in it. S&F has many of the same, “print these out and post them somewhere” longevity, but does so in a narrative arc that follows the narrator in pain and recovery.
Liked this bundle more than the first. Some of the poems (about 1 in 15-20?) resonate with me despite the writing-style, definitely not because of it. 3 stars since I enjoyed parts of it and it's a relatively pleasant read.
The vibes just weren't there & the struggle to finish it and get it over in one sitting was rough. Unpopular opinion, but I felt exhausted and drained instead of empowered and motivated.
Definitely liked this one more than Milk and Honey.
