All I can say is meh. I read this after reading a Sand County Almanac by Leopold and found this book wanting. Her writing style is good, but I found her insights into nature and ecology boring and uniformed. So, meh.

I read this book very slowly over the course of a year. I found it meditative and hypnotizing, with beautiful spiraling prose and a distinctly transcendental flavor.
