What a ride! This book takes you through a surrogacy story that does not go as planned. It plays with many ideas surrounding pregnancy, adoption, infertility, and surrogacy. This is one winding road and once you get to the end - it has a couple of surprises. I am not a fan of Ruth. Her wants didn't align with her personality on so many levels. I enjoyed this book.

This was a unique story. There were multiple POV's so you get taken through the story from every perspective alternating between past and present.

While I did like the story, especially the fact that it was partially inspired by a true case I was unfamiliar with, I had a hard time loving or rooting for any of the characters.

I could not imagine being in the situation from either perspective and knowing this type of thing really happens is what made this book most chilling.
