I loved the Heart Principle, another amazing story by Helen Hoang. I loved the blooming love between Anna and Quan, but I took off .5 because generally this novel is very sad. it’s very reminiscent of real life in that way, but i usually read to escape, so this one wasn’t the 5 star that the Bride Test and the Kiss Quotient were for me!

Overall, I enjoyed this book! It was definitely a romance with spice but it was also so much more than that. The story brings to life many different elements such as autism awareness, disability rep, being a caregiver, feelings of loss and hopelessness etc. It was an intriguing and emotional romance to read. HOWEVER, the amount of times I read the word ASS in this book. PLUS, is it a consensus between authors to put in extremely awful lines when describing smut "the globes of his ass" - what...Anyway, overall a good and emotional read! I would recommend it!

CWs: some internal and external ableism; explorations of cancer and terminal illness; some descriptions of panic attacks and overstimulation; discussions about infertility; some self harm and suicide ideation; explorations of caretaking; parental death and grief; and explicit sexual content

this book was great. i love helen hoang and when i started this book i knew it would be different from the others in this series. it wasn’t as light and honestly i loved how she touched on the topics that she did. i also like that we get to see a deeper side of quan that isnt at all seen in the other books. i also just loved anna and was rooting for her the whole time. i guess my one gripe (which honestly feels kind of petty so you can disregard) is that i wish quan had an easier time. like i love this book and am glad it exists in the form it does but simultaneously part of me also wishes his story was a little lighter. might be just me. i love you helen!!!
