i don’t know what it is about macbeth specifically that draws me in. i think it’s the futility and hopelessness that the story is absolutely marinated in. yes, the language is striking of course, mr shakespeare may have had a couple drops of talent, but really it’s the story and the characters that draw me in. has there ever been a more tragic power couple? and god, the hallucinations! the slow descent into madness! the tragedy and the gore! there’s nothing like it

That went by a lot quicker than I thought it would. This is the first time that I truly love a book that's a required reading. I look forward for more Shakespearean plays to fall in love with.
