Gotta say, I got hooked on the slow horses tv series based on the mick Herron books first, but now I’m definitely hooked on both!

Herron does a great job of bringing relatable office humor to the espionage genre. All his characters have personal goals beyond just the mission at hand, and you root for them because they’re all human, not superhuman.

Call this one 3.5 stars. Nothing earth shattering but Herron manages to keep this series fresh even after four books. This Uber popular Aries gets lots of accolades, but for me the reason I keep coming back is the one and only Jackson Lamb. I didn’t think it possible to actually like this character more each book, but Herron forces me to. Jackson Lamb is a national (British) treasure.
