amazing, stunning, haunting-- I loved this book!!! I believe it is actually considered a "young adult" novel, but I'm not sure why... The book is narrated by Death and the style is a bit different, making the first few chapters a little confusing. It makes perfect sense though and it easy to follow along once you get used to it. It's the story of a young girl living in Germany during World War II, I won't give any more details so you can read it for yourself! If you love books and love the places a book/words can take you, you will love this story. (Oh and check out the avg. rating for this book is a 4.5, so I'm not the only person who loved it!)

The most intelligent things I’ve ever read were all really simple, deceptively simple.

This book works really hard. It makes YOU work really hard.

My life is hard, I don’t need this in books.

Kind of a lovely book. Dark and strange, with the added bonus of Death as narrator, to give it an odd scope and perspective. Add Liesel Memminger to the growing list of YA characters i want an imaginary daughter to grow up to resemble. (See also Belaqua, Lyra and Everdeen, Katniss).

My mother gave me this book and I loved it. It is a beautiful story and I was sad when it ended. I recommend it to anyone.
