Thoreau is kind of an ass hole and kind of hilarious. His moralizing gets a little tedious at times but I liked a lot of what he had to say and his descriptions of the woods were fannnntastic.

Fascinating read. I think it would be interesting to have this book 'redone' so to speak in this era and compare differences in means to be able to live mininally as he did.

Honestly had some problems with what I felt like was a bit classist and undermined Henries actual message. Good book, but not my kind of book

DID NOT FINISH

I'm sure there are some absolute gems somewhere in this book but just the few pages I read pissed me off enough that I decided to read a few reviews, and based on those I've decided this book is simply not for me. I cannot stand people who think they're so much better than everyone else and don't see why I should put myself through reading an entire book of that attitude just because it has one or two profound things to say. Extremely disappointed.
