An interesting take on Norse Mythology from the point of view of Loki. I love unreliable narrators.

First let me be clear. I love fan-fiction and let's face it that's what this is. A fan-fic of the Norse myths. I was very excited to try this one. But good fan-fiction fleshes out the canon, adds to it - it doesn't trample all over it until it is unrecognizable.
Yes, I know that 'canon' is a tricky concept here and that the point of the myths is that there were many versions of the stories and Snorri sort of picked and Christianized. But, just for starters, what exactly is a 'demon' in Norse Mythology? Never in all my many years (since I was 5 and I'm an old bat now) of reading and re-reading those stories have I ever come across a demon. There's plenty more to take issue with but this isn't a religious dissertation, just my feelings about this book.
This book just made me sad. If people are coming to this 'cold', never having read the myths themselves, they are going to get a very skewed view of my faith.
Don't get me wrong - the writing was good enough that I chose a few quotes to save in my book.
It was just the way the content was handled left me cold.

To make this clear, this is based off of the Norse Myth Loki, not Marvel Loki, as there are a lot of differences. I knew a few of the stories from the Norse Myths, but wanted to read more from a unique perspective, aka Loki’s. I enjoyed it overall and will definitely read the sequel.

I confess the first time I read this, it fell a little flat for me, but this second reading was rather more enjoyable. I still feel it lacks energy and isn't quite as engaging as I'd expect from such a good author but still quite enjoyable to read
