A manga from my childhood that I think lived up to my memory fairly well. I liked the characterization of both leads and their chemistry a lot. Yayoi is refreshingly competent and cool-headed with her fair share of charm and Ura has a lot of depth behind the brusque facade. And also him as a cat is just so cute. The art of the cat is just as endearing as I remember. My only gripes are how short it is. It’s so short that it can’t really expand on any of the cool stuff (the 108 spirits, Ouga’s redemption or continuing fall, the King’s curse, etc.) that it brings up. I wish it was at least 6 volumes but alas I will take the 2 we have. I also saw that it’s the same author as Yona of the Dawn (which makes complete sense to me) so I might check that series out next.
