Sigh. It’s probably been over 20 years since I last read a book by this author, but my memory was that her books were cute, quirky, and funny. So I’m not sure if the author’s writing has devolved or my taste in books has greatly evolved in that timeframe, but I suspect it’s a combination of the two.

I know the author was trying to be witty and funny in her writing, but so many of the moments and lines in the book were so over the top farcical and inane, it was the exact opposite of funny and was in fact just incredibly bad. “Go....Take the monkey. Save the world.” And said seriously, folks. Or the “medieval minion” who spoke in bad Renaissance lingo as he lurked around town after the heroine and her friends, and was honestly one of the stupidest characters I have come across in some time. And the relationship between the two MCs is supposed to be sexy, but they were utterly boring, and the reason they couldn’t have sex just ridiculous. I’m sure it was written to create and draw out the supposed sexual tension between them, but Moonlighting this isn’t. 1⭐️

These books are so terrible, why do I keep reading them? Is it terrible on purpose? Are they supposed to be funny? Can I set Diesel on fire? Can Evanovich leave any of Lizzie's outfits to my imagination rather than detailing every goddamn one? TUNE IN NEXT TIME BECAUSE APPARENTLY I'LL READ THAT ONE TOO

Quick read with some amusing parts and some trademark Evanovich

This was my first Janet Evanovich book. (I do want to read the Stephanie Plum series.) I didn't realize "Wicked Business" was the second in a series. I think I may have enjoyed the book more if I'd read the first book prior to this one. It was a fun book and I did laugh out loud a few times.

A fun story again with Lizzy and Diesel. I love all the Boston references.

Love it :) So fun and easy to read!

First read 5/27/2016. Very tongue-in-cheek.

I still love stephanie plum even though the formula has gone stale. I pretty much know I will lol, roll my eyes at the predicaments she galls into and root for Joe or Root for ranger. I was hoping for the same here. It didn't happen. It tried to hard to be like the orginal concept Evanocich is famous for and fell flat. This is the second book in series will probably check out first book but in no hurry

I started reading this book considering it to be summer brain candy and a much needed easy-reading escape. However, this book sorely missed the mark. I had two issues were the book that were a big turn-off. (pun soon to be intended) The first being the reference that anything scientific that was too difficult to understand should simply be considered magic. Then the second issue was the use of the word "penetration" in what could have been a sexy moment to build tension. Reading it was more like a bucket of cold water than a steamy shower that solidified my absolute dislike for this book. Bashing science and ruining a perfectly good sexy moment, bah!

I love the premise of this series. The idea that the seven deadly sins are actually out there as stones that could be owned/collected is interesting to me. This book in particular made me laugh out loud several different times. Lizzy and Diesel are entertaining together. There is obviously chemistry there, but there is no way they can act on it, so it makes for some fun scenes. I liked that Glo and Hatchet were more of a part of this book. They are both entertaining and Glo just makes me smile with her eternal optimism. Wulf showed a different side as he was compromised and made to be humble. I look forward to reading the next one.
