This book makes me want to go watch You’ve Got Mail. It was a cute, clean romance. I wanted to give it more stars but I just did not like Rory at all. She constantly jumped to conclusions and then would go off on tantrums. If she would stop and listen most of the ridiculous arguments wouldn’t have occurred. Also, a pet peeve of mine is when a pop culture reference is wrong. *NSYNC sings Bye Bye Bye, not the Backstreet Boys.

I listened to this on audiobook and would not recommend the format. There is one female narrator doing a female and male POV and it was very difficult to discern the many different characters throughout the story. Also her pacing was too fast. I couldn’t tell where the POV changed which often confused me.

This was a charming dual perspective love story about two rival Texas taco food truck owners who are unknowingly online dating. Lots of great food descriptions but overall I found this one moved a little too slow and didn't have a lot of chemistry between the main characters. Recommended for fans of Simmer down, To sir, with love or the movie You've got mail.

Tacos for Two • Betsy St. Amant

Rory owns a food truck but ironically she can’t cook. She is struggling to keep the food truck going that her late Aunt passed down to her. When Jude a soon to be lawyer at his fathers law firm asks for some cooking lessons and offers to pay a fair amount, Rory couldn’t turn him down. But when the Modest annual food truck festival arrives Rory is faced with some obstacles as her gets mono and finds out her former student is now the main competition.
Both owners are desperate to win but that’s not all that’s going on. Both are falling for the people they met online through a dating website.
Will there be tacos for everyone or will everything go up in smoke?

I really wanted to like this book but honestly I just couldn’t get into it. Some parts I of the book struggled to get through. The storyline was cute but I feel that realistically these two wouldn’t work out in the end. Rory just always assumed the worst of Jude and I don’t know how he could get past that.
One of the things I did like was the online aspect of the relationship that was nice to see.
Sometimes I think there was almost too much going on that made it hard to follow along with.

I felt like this book had a lot of potential. I have always loved a good enemies to lovers plot line and starting out that seemed like that was exactly where this was going! Not to mention that our enemies were actually communicating anonymously online and getting to know each other in a personal way through a dating app. Plus there were food trucks and a competition!! So many things to love! Unfortunately I just could not connect with the characters, which made it hard for me to stay invested with their storylines and the hurdles they had to get over. I think that this book is something that could be great for some, but it just didn't do it for me.

Thank you net galley for sending me this arc in return for an honest review.

Somehow read this whole thing despite not caring about the story and the characters having no chemistry. Did not enjoy.

Tacos for Two is a sweet romance (kissing only) with a unique and fun storyline centered around online dating and food trucks. Rory and Jude have great chemistry and I loved the different stages of relationship development throughout the book. I also really loved that there was a good plot and strong side characters in addition to the romance storyline. I couldn’t wait for the moment when everything came to light and thought that turnover and “oh it’s YOU” moment was done really well. I found this to be a really fun and enchanting read, and highly recommend for rom com lovers!

Thank you to Revell books for this ARC!

Cute romance. I was sometimes bored with it, however, since it’s quite long and I got super frustrated with the characters at times (especially Rory). The You’ve Got Mail references totally make up for it though ;). 3.5 stars.
