Willa is 8 years old and gets a jar filled with the ocean sent to her, with instructions to plant in her garden.

Willa is also 33 years old and also gets sent a jar but she isn’t ready to face her past, in fact it’s haunting her.

Willa is also 94 and knows that there is something really important she needs to remember to tell her past self, if only she would stop forgetting things.

There is a magical ocean garden near the mango tree that connects the three Willas and they can travel through to visit each other.

While this book has a whimsical and quirky premise, with a Grammy who I adored and a Frog dog that wouldn’t be out of place with my own chihuahuas, the book is also very dark, with 8 year old Willa trying to save her mum, and her younger sister, and not blaming herself for what is happening in her home.

I loved the book and gave it 5 stars but there were times that it was very hard to read.
