I decided not to try more than the book itself for a book to be good and so from now on I will not dwell on unsatisfying books. I read 34% of The Witch's Heart. It was BORING and weak, didn't give the same feeling of magic that is present in mythology AND had queerphobic undertones. Yeah, no, thank you.

No es lo que esperaba, me gusta mucho la mitologia y no leĆ mucha nordica por lo que esta lectura prometia. Pero las primeras 180-200 paginas es pura vida familiar mundana que no aporta mucho y recien el final de pone bueno.

This book really hit home for me mainly because Angraboda really felt like the epitome of eldest daughter syndrome. She seemed to not know how to function in her personal relationships in any role other than caretaker/mother even in her romantic relationship
with Loki she let him take advantage of her as if she was the long sufferning single mom and he was her rebellious teenage son.

I loved her character, how she chose to live her life peacefully and to be always pouring out love without resentment despite battling with some serious rage.
I did no  like how there were no chapters but that's a personal preference. The 3 parts of the book made sense as they were different stages of her life, but I did find the second part her journey of self discovery was a bit too slow considering the circumstances that caused her to go on this journey. I felt that she should have been operating with more sense of urgency, and it was a little confusing for me why she wouldn't be more passionate about any kind of action against the gods.
I also loved how there was no sugar coating if the mythology and to my knowledge Gornichec  stuck to the myths very accurately.
This is definitely a slow burn book, in an intense way, (which is personally my vibe) very slow at first and a lot of background and detail and then towards the end it gets very fast and is a lot of information at once which could be confusing for some readers.

4.5 stars. Probably my favorite myth telling I've yet read. Angrboda was just such an interesting protagonist.
