The way the author creates tension and paints the characters is brilliant.
I did think that the 2nd half of the book takes it in a direction that I found disappointing.
It was really good, but if it had stayed with the particular menace that the book started with, I would have liked it more.
I am avoiding spoilers.

Started with a TON of promise and good characters, but fizzled out towards the end. Basically if you know what scientifically most likely happened in the Dyatlov Pass incident, that's what's going on here, but there's also real ghosts....I think? *Sigh* sooooooo much potential in the premise and first half.
2nd DNF this month sadly. Between moving and getting re-settled it's been hard to find something that's sticking. This one had some okay suspence but mostly just felt bored. As always no rating as I'm stopping just before pg. 200 which is 50% of the way. I have it on kindle now so maybe one day I'll pick it back up.

Horror books arent my cup of tea. If I liked the genre a bit better i think i would have given it a better rating. It was a very interesting concept. It did drag at times where i wish it picked up, but it was alright!

The first half was effectively creepy, and I enjoyed it. Overall, the writing could be better, and it read like your run of the mill space horror, but that's what I was hoping for! The rest of the book went in a direction I just did not vibe with. This wasn't bad, just not at all what I wanted it to be.
