Three chapters in and I internally scolded myself as to why it took me this long to read Graham Greene. He is a virtuouso of the written word. I can’t wait to read more of his novels.

I listened to this one read by Colin Firth and...WOW! (Shout out to my friend Richelle for the recommendation.) I am now utterly smitten with both Graham Greene and Colin Firth. The novel itself is everything I look for in a good work of literature. Complex without being heavy-handed, well-crafted, and rich in meaning. There was an element of the plot that I found just too implausible to give this one the perfect five star score, but Colin Firth's performance is off the charts good. I'm looking forward to more Graham Greene and have moved Colin Firth's The King's Speech to the top of my Netflix queue.

Ο Graham Green έχει μια γλώσσα μοναδικής ακρίβειας και οικονομίας. Η συγκεκριμένη ιστορία δε, είναι πολύ δυνατή, το ίδιο και οι χαρακτήρες.
Νιώθεις την κάθε σελίδα. Υποκλίνομαι.
