I loved the detailed world building. The plot was fun and fast paced enough that you don’t get bored, but realistic enough so you forget sometimes that it’s not your reality. I enjoyed how all the main characters had some flaw or back story that made them more human. Overall was a very enjoyable sci-fi novel.

The absolute full package on any sci fi book i've read in the last 2+ years. Hands down 5 stars. Holy crud was the length of this book humungous like 880 pages humungous the audio book I read along with was over 30 hours long o.O i thought the midnight sun was a beast but this one was engaging the full way through. I loved kira and gregorivich (I have a soft spot for AI's lol). It definitely felt like 3 books built into 1 but over all I loved the war with the alien race, the evolvement of kira as a character and the over all whole package of this book. I loved it so much I went out and bought. I wish I could have gotten a signed copy of it but its okay, I don't own a single book that is signed already but one day.

For fans of The Inheritance Cycle, give this meaty mofo a chance. Paolini follows similar plot structure and character development, and even throws the similar romances. It’s Eragon, but scifi. a science gal I am not- but a Paolini fan I truly am.

Just a solid sci fi book. The pace accelerates towards the end but not crazy fast

Stunning. Riveting. And a beautiful view into the struggles and decisions the main character makes throughout the story. Rich character and world building. Amazing deep context about the morality of what it means to withhold/utilize so much power.

A lot of interesting ideas--in particular I enjoyed the glimpses into the totally alien culture of the jellies--but this book just felt too long. A more heavy-handed editor might have been able to wrangle it. I was listening to this book on audio and found myself spacing out for several stretches, which had nothing to do with the amazing narrator, Jennifer Hale, and everything to do with the story just not quite engaging me enough to hold my attention for that long.
