All I can say is WOW! This was incredible. It is the definition of an epic for sure, the world is absolutely massive. It was definitely a VERY long book, but I wouldn’t exactly call it slow. I would say it meanders (similar to Tolkien’s writing style much of the time) a good bit, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but may not be for everyone. All in all I’m super happy with my time with this book!

I still can't believe I managed to finished this. Incredibly meh.
I give up. It's a mess, a mashup of Alien/Aliens/Venom with a splash of Firefly and no sense of a rational plot. I get that Paolini is a big YA author and this is his foray into adult fiction but despite the adult elements, it's very YA writing with magic thinking and arguments that go like "You have to do this because I _really_ want you to".'
I might have cut this book a bit more slack if I'd been reading it rather than listening to it, but I have very low tolerance for annoying writing when I'm driving.

Apologies to my dear brother who gifted this book to me, but I physically cannot finish it. I’m not really a sci-fi fan, and this was way too technical for way too many pages.
