I would like to publicly thank the bookshop that has put on sale this book before the end of November, and the fact that it is very big and I was able to read in peace without having to buy it on the spot, for how much I love and appreciate Alex Cross for nearly 20 years, by the end of this adventure that lasted two books, it is clear that among us this is a final farewell. The story, which from the beginning was not credible, expires in science fiction, and of course one of the super villains is also still alive, likely to be living and bad in a future book. Maybe 22 are also too many books, however goodbye Alex, it was nice while it lasted.

After the ending of Cross My Heart, I was almost afraid to start this one and Mr. Patterson didn't disappoint with his roller coaster ride of a beginning of a book. It's a great story and a definite page turner of Alex Cross and his family. I love the way Mr. Patterson writes his villains, they seem to be more complex and at a different level than typical villains. I enjoyed it very much!
Once again, another Alex Cross book that you can't put down until you're finished!
An end that ends the story started in the last book. Some of it was a bit hokey but a good thriller if you can suspend your disbelief.
Cheesy, sometimes outright silly, but I still love these characters. Lately, the ONLY Patterson that I've enjoyed. Alex Cross at his best - and the whole family gets into the act!
Loved this story, twists & turns. Such a fun read! Will read more Alex Cross books for sure!
Typical short chapter, fast pace read from Patterson.
The Alex Cross series has always been enjoyable. This one was no exception. I feel like we get to see Cross truly grasp a new emotion, desperation. He has been involved with terrible crimes, his family and himself have been put into harms way, but never on this level. The writing was fast paced, Cross is always grasping onto the next straw while we wonder how the bad guy will be stopped. The only down side again is that we can predict what the out come will be. Patterson is an excellent writer, but he does not like killing off his characters. While we could maybe believe that one person would die, we know from the start his whole family would not be harmed severely. If that every does happen, I will truly be shocked.
Ok so technically this is only a 3 star book but for the Alex Cross books it's a 4 star for sure. I've mainly been reading these out of some weird obligation to the series. They started out good but really haven't been very good for a while now. I haven't completely given up on Alex Cross like I have Kay Scarpetta(those are just awful now)and I'm glad because this book and the one before this one are back to Kiss the Girls Alex Cross. So if you've read this series, I'd say give this one a shot. If you haven't, don't bother.
