So glad that I finally got to this-- it's been on my to-read list forever. Greg Gaines is a hilarious and irreverent antihero. While this is a story about his relationship with Rachel, who is dying of leukemia, it's about as far from [b:The Fault in Our Stars|11870085|The Fault in Our Stars|John Green|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1360206420s/11870085.jpg|16827462] as a story can get. And that's okay. Greg is the everyman who just can't live up to feeling the way he thinks he "should" feel or saying the things he "should" say. And his friend and fellow filmmaker Earl is one of the most original sidekicks I've come across. Although sidekick is definitely not the right word. Utterly enjoyable.

Cute writing style, very humorous. Reminded me of high school...

I owned this book since I was a teenager. I tried to read it many times. Unfortunately it just doesn't seem to stick so I recently decided to pass it down to a friend who may enjoy it.

I finally finished this.
This book really tested me and my morals of having to finish a book once I start it.
Throughout the book, the author/Greg would mention what a terrible book this is.
Word.
I agree whole-heartedly.
I have such a huge headache from this book right now that I can't even properly review this book.
I wasn't able to relate to anything or any character, the jokes were rusty and overdone, and there was absolute no meaningful climax in this book.
The only time I was interested in this book was when someone else other than Greg called him out for being a terrible person and punching him.
God, that was thrilling.
Really though, this book was terrible and I only recommend it if you wish to get a headache and wish to learn how terrible this book is personally.
1 star.
Barely 1 star.

This is one of the only books to make me laugh out loud. I love it. The ending fell a little flat for me, but the rest of the book made up for it 10/10 out recommend.
