Flat characters, massive plot holes and contradictions. And for some reason

the only death described is that of a dog?

I believe there would've been potential for better, as the idea is really interesting, but it feels like the author focused more on building a timeline than giving the characters any depth or creating consistency.

The movie, in this case, works better and takes less time off your life!

It was a good book and the story is interesting. The writing is slightly hasty and sometimes moves too quickly to really feel the fear the characters are feeling, but I enjoy the concept and would read a sequel.

"The Happening" meets "A Quiet Place"
Exactly what I want in horror/thriller. Perfectly suspenseful and at times creepy. You really feel for the characters, which makes the ending that much better. 
If you're afraid of birds, this might (not) be book for you.
