I recently described this book as "fortune teller-esque." The anecdotes were often just vague enough to feel relatable but at some point you stopped thinking "hey, that's me! I do that too!" It was okay but not my favorite humor essay collection.
One of the most relatable essay collections I've read! Funny and smart. Mercado does a great job narrating the audiobook.

It’s easy to pick up at any point and just read a chapter. Very clear voice and some relatable stories as well as some good reminders for being human but not one that I will pick up again.
this felt like a millennial fever dream. The stories did not feel real or deep in any way, and it made the reading experience not enjoyable at all. She also felt the need to relate everything to race even things that had nothing to do with it at all, which made the book feel like she was complaining for 200 pages straight.
I did appreciate hearing her experiences growing up “racially ambiguous looking” (her chosen terms) but otherwise found this boring. Before quitting, I skipped ahead to a few chapters that had titles that interested me but I felt stuck listening to someone at a party that labors on and on about how they like coffee or their former screen names. (These are actual essays in the book)
