This was a very interesting book! I loved the tooth magic and plot of this, something totally new and different. Can't wait to get to the sequel!

I just couldn't get into the story or the characters. I listened to the audio and found myself struggling to pay attention

By a third in, I didn't care about any of the characters or their mission. Felt like a waste of time.

In a world divided into castes, Fie lives and travels with the Merciful Crows. The Crows are mistreated by all of the other castes...but they have a vital role in the community. Crows are immune to the Sinner's Plague, an incredibly deadly virus. When someone succumbs to the Sinner's Plague, the Crows are duty-bound to respond and take care of it. After responding to a call from the King's palace, Fie and her group are surprised that the prince and his body double are the bodies...and are actually alive. Fie is tasked with delivering the prince to his allies, a difficult and potentially deadly journey.

Owen has created an amazing world that tackles the difficult topic of discrimination. The characters were diverse and real, and the plot moved well.

Just a wonderful read. Fie is so angry and full of rage yet is so bound by duty, even when she hates it. I loved the world Owen created it was fantastical yet seemed so real. Great character development and works building. Used the word ken (to mean understand) a little too much in my opinion. Loved the use of teeth. Overall just a great book.
