It’s not worth four stars but the fact that the romance centers around my favorite Kenny chesney song earns it the extra vote

Honestly, it reads like I wrote fanfic about me and Riley Green and I ain’t mad about it

A classic, cute second chance rom com. I loved the small town charm and the fact that it's in Ohio!! :)

I want to preface this review with the fact that I LOVE Kerry Winfrey’s other books…. Like 5 ⭐️ and recommend them to everyone I know.

This book did not hit me the same way, but I can’t say that it won’t for others. The small town vibe was hard to relate to and the school spirit where everyone wears their university clothes like a badge of honor is just not something I matched with. This could be because I’m Canadian (in a big city) and that’s not a big part of our university years.

Sandy and Hank were not lovable characters for me and I didn’t feel the spark that I usually get from Winfrey’s books. Even their names felt uninspiring and dull. They lacked a chemistry that I love in a romance in order to believe that they have been pining over each other for a long time.

As with other of Winfrey’s books, the story is well written and thought out… for myself, it just lacked a bit of familiarity and passion.

Thank you Netgalley and Berkley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Just Another Love Song is a charming, second chance romance that ya'll need to read. The plot follows a townie who is basically scared to shake up her life and take a chance. While doing so, she loses her one true love who later becomes a country music star of sorts. The characters are delightful, the plot is light yet poignant and believe it or not it is a closed-door romance.

Just Another Love Song is perfect for readers looking for a fall festival Hallmark movie in a book.

It’s an easy, heartwarming read. Good for anyone who has ever second guessed themselves, their decisions and their worth.

I read this because a booksta friend recommended it and I’m so glad I did. I’ve enjoyed Kerry’s other books but this one I absolutely adored. It’s a sweet story about second chances, filled to the brim with small town charm and country love songs. The characters are perfection. From the lovable main characters - Sandy and Hank - to Sandy’s steadfast BFF - Honey - to the quirky, Stars Hollow-esque townsfolk, everyone is utterly charming. Kerry included some truly hilarious scenes (squirrel in the house , anyone?) that perfectly balance out the emotional (yet heartwarming!) scenes between Sandy and Hank. I just wanted to hug the book once I was done!

Recommend for fans of second chance tropes, country music, and/or fall in small town

Not me CRYING on a train to Marrakesh over how good this was. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again—if there’s not at LEAST 12 years of pining before they get together then it’s not enough for me. This was 15 so that’s a thumbs up from me
