I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that sucked me in and then spit me back out stomped on my heart repeatedly and then made it happy only to throw it out the window and smash it. When I say this book takes you thru every emotion and trigger you didn’t know you had is an understatement. The main character went thru so much.so so much. But don’t worry there’s a happy ending but whew the ride to get there.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I didn't know if I wanted to scream, cry, punch someone or murder a few people the whole time. The twists and turns in this book were amazing. I absolutely loved the entire book and I didn't want it to end. 10/10.
Everytime I thought it couldn’t get worse for the FMC…I was proved wrong on the next page. Literally something happening nonstop!! Only a short few chapters of fluff and they don’t last long before you’re submerged again.
The only reason I don’t give five stars is because the ended came sort of quick despite the drawn out terror to get there… it didn’t really explain what happened to the immortals who broke the rules or the country due to their actions.. and the “villain” was let off SO EASY for what he did to her. As well as the people who suddenly decided they had enough because he had too much power over them all of the sudden.. no consequences to them playing a part to murder, involuntary pregnancies, eating of babies, and so on… like come on. I’m glad they helped her escape in the end but just … no, I was so disappointed. I wanted to see them all burn.
Anyways. It’s still a good read

I experienced so many emotions while reading - horrified, disgusted, heartbroken, angry, absolutely LIVID, hopeful… just to name a few. There were many times throughout the book where I considered putting it down and DNF’ing, but I’m glad I didn’t. While the ride was bumpy and traumatizing, it was well worth it once I got to the end.
this book has everything horrible you can imagine: rape, incest, torture, murder, etc. and yet, somehow has a very emotional and happy ending...
i both love and hate that this book was brough to my attention, but i really did enjoy it...
