Honestly, I don’t know why I kept reading. It’s not that the content was too much. It was just not a well written book. There were too many inconsistencies and impracticalities. I annotated more in this book than in any other book I’ve read because there were so many things that drove me bananas and didn’t make sense.

Give me all the horrible, dark, twisted, dirty shit, but write it well. This wasn’t it. It started to become dark just to be dark, not because that’s the direction the plot was going.

Why did I waste 2 months reading this?

I'm into book 3 of this amazing story. I love very, very dark books, but I honestly needed to step away from this story because it was just so hard and dark and not like anything I've ever read before. But I will finish it.

My favorite read of this year so far! Very very dark and thrilling. I kept feeling hope die and come back to life as I was reading. I truly got nervous as I was reading that the end wasn’t going to be a happy one. Glad I got my happy ending. Anna deserved one.

Talk about a series that wrecks you. This is it. Tough to read, but characters are amazing. Highly recommended. I finished about 6 weeks ago and still think about it. Writing is at a high level, and author drags you in so deep you can't help but continue. Thankfully, we do get our HEA (as was promised in opening comments by Ms. Honeycutt) but man its a rough ride. I really enjoyed the variety of complex relationships that Anna develops throughout the series. But reader beware, this is dark, dark dark.

i'm still thinking if i like it or not.

Omg

I don’t have words... This poor poor girl, but I couldn’t stop reading. This is probably the darkest series I have ever read, but I have a feeling it’s going to stay with me for a long time.

Wow

This is one of those series where I often thought "what the heck did I just read?" I won't even try to describe the story, because so many others have already done so beautifully. I will say, that if you're willing to read something that is fantastically gruesome, but also filled with hope and deep rooted love, then give this book a try. This book shredded my heart and fixed it back up about a thousand times over. So much despair, them hope, then double the despair, then more hope over and over again. At times I thought the end had to be close, then saw I was barely at 43%. But it was so good. As the end came beat I didn't want it to end. I don't know how I'm going to read another book after this.

This is a DNF for me. I had high hopes for this book. I went into this believing it was a dark romantic take on a girl in a cult-like setting. Nope. Paranormal biz was added and that seriously over complicated things. I managed to make it almost 30% of the way through and by that time Anna had fallen in love with 3 different men, raped numerous times (including by 2 of the men she loved), and had various other things done to her both paranormal and not. Every other page was a sex scene and the plot ended up colluded.

Sorry, but even all the “shock factors” weren’t enough to keep me around.

Also if I read the word “sensual” one more time....😴
