This is a contemplative erotic novella about a polyamorous triad between three trans characters. It's both extremely focused on the sexual relationships between the three and also slow moving without much of a plot.

While I appreciate the characters and unconventional plot, everyone knows I want more plot than taking long walks in the woods and canning beets and tomatoes in between bouts of sex. I'm just a grumpy plot-loving reader.

I am interested in reading more from Ottoman - this just wasn't quite my speed.

Overall a fun read but I can’t help but be frustrated that I know more about the food the characters ate throughout the book than I know about their transness.

It’s nice to read a book where the characters being trans (and queer and poly) isn’t used in a way that makes you feel bad for the characters, but truly so many mysteries about how the characters navigate the 1940’s as trans people remain and I was bummed by that. Loved the romance though.
