I saw another review for this book that said this book contained no plot just vibes, and I couldn't agree more! The setting: idyllic. The spice: immaculate. This is probably the spiciest cozy read I've encountered and honestly I am here for it. Did the storyline make a lot of sense? No. Did this book include a virgin trope? Yes. Did the characters get it on really early and then continually? Yes. Somehow none of those things made me dislike this book. Read this if you like queer love stories! Well there is an emotional component it's not a heavy read at all.

I'll be honest; this wasn't very well written. The relationships felt rushed and had almost no build up or reason for the characters to be attracted to each other. It felt like we finally got to understand and know the characters better and then it was over. I think everything could have been better if the book were longer.
It just didn't hold my interest most of the time.
Overall, this was a cute concept, just not executed to my personal tastes.

I had no idea this was a novella, otherwise I would have picked it up earlier! A great, light end to the Trans Rights Readathon: equal parts sexy and anti-capitalist. I think I would have enjoyed further exploration of the character's day-to-day lives surrounded by the woods, but it was still a lovely balm to the soul.

This book was so lovely. It's a steamy t4t4t romance set shortly after WW2. Other reviews have summarized the plot. But I just loved the way it felt to inhabit Madeline for a while :3
I would recommend this to anyone who likes their romance books a little spicy, cis or trans.

Cozy and surprisingly steamy historical romance. Literally all vibes. I loved the writing but felt like all the romantic development happened off page
This had some good moments. But it definitely felt a little repetitive and like I was waiting for bigger moments in the relationships. It just needed more to it. Loved the characters and the idea of the plot but it needed more.

Honestly speaking, I wasn't ready for how tenderly seductive the relationships here would be. Madeline was already a rather endearing character to me, I just wanted to sit with her and exist in her space for some reason. Victor and Audrey are different, but you can see what possibly brought them together. Not to negate being able to see what exactly drove them apart. Madeline reigniting that dynamic between Victor and Audrey was crazy to see, but I wasn't complaining. Part of me does feel more could have been explored with establishing the poly relationship, to see how exactly Madeline affects something that had once crash and burned.
