In my experience, you know what you’re getting with a Elin Hilderbrand book. Inter generational push and pull and love stories. I enjoy them as a lighter entertaining read.

This book was way too pretentious for me. I disliked how the story started (the POV of Nantucket and bragging how great it is). It just ruined the tone of the book for me. Not a fan.

And again - A HOME RUN from Elin! Set in Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, a set of identical twins are estranged from each other but suddenly have their lives thrown back together and have to make the best of it and come to terms with pain from the past; while the townspeople in both areas are not so sure which twin they are dealing with because Harper and Tabitha are polar opposites on the emotional scale. LOVE IT!

4.5 stars This book was an enjoyable “light “ read. In a way the book is like the parent trap with one twin going to live with her mother and the other her father,  except they had spent time as a complete family before their parents divorced. It was also interesting to have both marthas vineyard and Nantucket in the book. this was my first elin hilderbrand book and I read it because for July the bully book club “pick” is to read an Elin Hilderbrand book and I got this at a consignment shop and it sounded interesting (which it was)

I miss the Beach! Hilderbrand can write the most perfect beach/summer scenes and i love her for it. I miss summer: so why not hop into her books and feel the sand on my toes. This was dramatic, full of chaos, and family drama. Loved and hated the characters. Life dynamics and coming of age stories for everyone (which I adore). I thought it was a very interesting story! However, it felt just a bit too long and I lost care for it at times with subplots. Overall, it was okay!

The one thing that bothered me is that there is no way, no way, that a sixteen year old, no matter the tear they were born, wouldn't know what rock, paper, scissors is. That really bugged me.
