dark tense slow-paced

That ending! I loved this one, the way Peter is willing to do and give up anything to be with Sara. I think her revelation at the end makes complete sense. Their passion still doesn’t do it for me, but I do love their actual, all-consuming romance.

What can I say about this series other than you need to start reading it. NOW! :)

Peter’s character is by far my favorite. I’m not wild about Sara. I won’t lie. But Peter more than makes up for it. He eats, breathes, lives for that woman. Anna conveys his feelings so well that we can’t help but fall in love with his very being.

"For as long as we both are alive."

Destiny Mine begins right where the last book left off. Sara is recovering from her near-fatal accident at the safe house in Japan when Peter finds out Sara’s mother was involved in an accident that could potentially end her life. His team escorts her back to the states so she can be with her family during this time. While she is with her parents, Peter meets with Novak to discuss ending Julian’s life.

I can’t give away any more than that. You have to read to find out. But holy shit. Wait til the end!! I’m dying to read the next book!

Thank you for proving me with an ARC, Anna. As always, you wrote an enthralling tale that sucked me in from the first page!

Uhm yessss I want more of Peter and Sara so unto the fourth book I go

Woooooo!!! Wow another hot read from Ms. Zaires. In the latest installment of the Tormentor Mine series, Destiny Mine, it does not disappoint. There were so many cameos from the prior series that I enjoyed reading for that alone! Sara was as frustrating as usual but it works for her and Peter. Cannot recommend enough -please go read this... NOW!!

Peter is back, to claim his love. Sarah gets on my nerves sometimes. I loved Julian and Nora’s reintroduction. Just makes me want more from them. I’m getting interested in the twins. I was very happy with the climax and action. I can’t wait to see what our villain has in store for them. I’m so glad a 4th book is coming! I highly recommend this series.

4.5 stars, rounded up!! 💕

This is the second to last book in Peter and Sara’s story, and a lot has changed. Sara is starting to admit her growing, complicated feelings for her captor, while Peter is learnings that with love comes sacrifice. Their relationship has evolved to something resembling a partnership, but is that just an illusion? And more importantly, does Sara even want that?

Nora and Julian are in this book, and not just for a cameo. They are integral to the storyline, and it was probably my favorite part. I’ve read their story but not Capture Me, so I enjoyed this book just a little more than the last. It was awesome to check in on the Esguerra’s.

As always, Anna Zaires does a great job of creating an antihero that the reader can’t help but love. Peter’s obsession with Sara knows no bounds, and because of the loss that took place in his past, his possessiveness isn’t exactly rational. It’s hard to blame him, though, especially when we know exactly to what extent Sara is the focal point in his life. She’s the motivation behind everything he does, whether it’s to be with her or to make her happy. Make no mistake about it, though; while Peter is evolving when it comes to Sara, he’s still a sadistic killer. That fact is at the very core of who he is, and it tinges everything he does with a touch of darkness. Peter himself is as intriguing as any antihero Zaires has created, which says a lot.

Thankfully, the final book releases tomorrow. The cliffhanger in this one wasn’t too intense, it was just a way to setup the final installment of the story. It’s a relief that Sara and Peter are closer than ever, because they are likely going to need to be to overcome this next threat.

Side note: it’s been a while since I read the first two books, and my reference point for “dark” reads has definitely changed. I no longer consider this dark, I just think it has dark elements to it. I’m not changing the first two, because that was my opinion at the time, but just know that this story doesn’t even compare to the other ones I’ve recently labeled “dark”.
dark medium-paced

I don’t think you know how excited I was to get my hands on this book. Peter!! That’s really all that needs to be said. I knew I was going to be in for one heck of a ride and Anna Zaires did not disappoint.

I feel like I only read about half of this book. In all honesty, I barely skimmed Sara’s parts. Once again, she angered me to no end. I know, I know, it’s me. I just can’t wrap my head around her character. I just can’t and I’ve decided that that’s okay. In the grand scheme of things, despite the fact that this is her story too, she’s irrelevant to me. Peter alone was the driving force of this book. He alone kept me captivated by this tale. As the many times before, he was and is the ONLY reason I’m loving this series.
I’m as obsessed with him as he is with me.
… as wrong as it is, I belong to him, mind, body and heart.

Now can someone please tell how she can say things like that and STILL act the way she does?

We stand like that, holding each other without words, and it feels so right, in all its wrongness.
It feels like we belong like this, like we were meant to be.

Then why do you carry on the way you do all the time? It wasn’t until I got to the end that she finally started to make some sense. And it wasn’t even her who explained it for me. Once again, it was Peter, in all his awesomeness, who provided some much needed clarity. Now I get it! She wants to feel forced, like she has no choice, in order to be okay with loving him. I call bullshit, but that’s just me. Maybe. I’m sure there’s gotta be someone else who feels the way I do. I couldn’t care less about this woman, however, for Peter’s sake, I wish her well.

This book had so many moving parts and some interesting guest appearances of characters from previous books. That’s about as spoiler-ish as I’m going to get. Hope that whets your appetite and you decide to one-click this series of dark deliciousness for yourself!

The Agony of Choice

Be warned: once you start this book, you won’t be able to put it down! Also trigger-warning: if you have a problem with questionable consent, this book is probably not for you, but since you have come this far in the series, you are likely already aware of that. Even though I think this series started out as part of three interlocking trilogies (Twist Me, Capture Me and Tormentor Mine), this is not the last book, there is one more to come. Having said that, there is no cliffhanger at the end Peter and Sara are in a good place, HFN.

I find it quite hard to write a review for this book without giving too much away. There is lots of action, some twists and turns, some deep emotion and also some unexpected hilarity. Recalling the ending of book 2, Obsession Mine, some of it might be guessed at.

I am fascinated by all the different facets of Peter: alternatingly he is a brutal and ruthless assassin, a dominating, forceful and demanding lover, but then he is also a considerate and nurturing boyfriend who displays an unexpected vulnerability. Throughout the first two books Peter first admits to his growing obsession and then later his all-consuming love. With that love he also comes to realize that he cannot build a life with Sara (his deepest wish) that is based on him being the captor and her being his captive. So he is faced with some difficult choices and every choice he makes is based on his desire to give Sara the life he thinks she needs and deserves. He not only takes steps to turn his life around, but in exchange for having a chance at a different life he is also willing to make the ultimate sacrifice and forgo his vengeance.

Sara’s feelings for Peter have been conflicted from the start. She desires him and also feels a strong emotional attachment, although she can never forget what he did to her at their first meeting and that he killed her husband. So she feels she has to try to escape. But after she is given a choice, things actually get worse instead of better. As long as she was forced by Peter she could absolve herself of the guilt of being together with him. But now she has to confront the darkness within herself and her cravings of wanting to be dominated by him. She comes to realize that she cannot be happy unless Peter steamrollers her into it.

Some hilarity ensues when Peter tries to live a normal life, with shades of the assassin next door. And since he is also looking for a new career, he employs his amazing organisational skills in the event planning business, so to speak…
