The tomato plant “ did the water and the soil now makes Ado’s plant a Maine tomato?” I think both. Aventura. Si se puede! You have also grown roots Michelle.

Fantastic for fans of Amelie and The Secret Garden. It's a book about community and learning to love the world around you told through the lens of a 12 year old girl discovering a stack of letters written between two sisters in the 1950s.

In some ways it feels like a lighthearted version of A Series of Unfortunate Events with the letters written in riddles, the food recipe ideas and the occasionally educational but non preachy tone.

The perfect lighthearted read- I read through it in a day and would reccomend it for adults and children.

DID NOT FINISH: 13%

Was a big fan of Cornelia Funke as a kid so I was interested in seeing what her newer books offered. This one really didn't hook me in like the others, mainly because it tells more of a down to earth story than these immersive fantasies that I connected to more. I think it'll definitely have its readers among the intended audience but I'm just going to give it a pass.
