Beautiful, artistic, informative and inspiring.  Hope you like triangles!  Amazingly simple and traditional designs with extraordinary fabric choices.  I’d be interested to see if the sewing instructions would have changed/simplified in the almost 10 years since it’s been written.

His use of color and pattern is unsurpassed. Clipped two patterns for possible use with NZ fabrics (in some future life where I am actually quilting again).

Especially interesting as I saw some of the historical, inspiration quilts during a visit to Paris in 2013.

I love the colours he and his friends use to create his fabrics!! His quilts may be on the simple side but they also how off the wonderful prints. It's wonderful to see someone not afraid of colour!! Inspiring!!

The best part of this was the section that showed the design process that led to some of these quilts. I also liked that in addition to the artistic photos showing the quilts in and around the historic Swedish buildings there was also a studio photo of each quilt showing the entire layout. The advertisement vibe to this is a bit too strong for my taste; all of the quilts are made from fabrics that Kaffe and his studio design and profit from and the supplies lists indicate which prints in which colorways one should purchase to replicate the quilt exactly (kits are also available).
