I loved the friends to lovers trope with Tate and Penny. I loved Tate so much!! Both Penny and Tate were very developed and had reasons for their actions.
I love how this book covered trauma and grief from different perspectives.
One thing I didn’t like was that
there were some text conversations with the side characters that I personally didn’t care for. It kind of moved the story along but other times it felt unnecessary.
Moderate: Emotional abuse and Death of parent
Minor: Abandonment

Penny's and Tate's moms are best friends. Penny and Tate are not. So when their moms decide to combine households due to a medical procedure - Penny's mom giving Tate's part of her liver - the girls are not thrilled. Particularly because of a certain "energy" between them.
Told in mixed timeline, this book covers grief, mental health, and the complexity of love.
