The entire book reads as a humble brag. A few gems of wisdom mixed with a lot of look-at-me, a well to-do white woman overcoming minor life inconveniences as if she’s known any true suffering (aside from the emotional tragedies of miscarriage, I’ll give her that)… the rest is not getting the job she saw for herself and having to belittle herself to work at *gasps* J. Crew (the torture), having an acquaintance snub her, and the on going theme of feeling less than because she wasn’t being praised.

Nicole does an amazing job telling her story of how she went through a lot of things but Jesus was right there with her. My favorite quote is this "Sometimes God doesn't save us from the pain, but he always saves us in the pain. Sometimes we get what we are hoping for, and sometimes we don't. And sometimes we get something we never knew to pray for: the peace that comes from a deeper intimacy with Christ." Nicole Zasowski

Really great - read her second book “what if it’s wonderful” before this one that resonated with me a lot, so was eager to read this one. This one is written in a way that still allows you to related to the emotions and reactions even though it’s very specific to her situation.

Found this book by accident on a clearance shelf and it was exactly the book I needed in this season of my life. Fantastic book for anyone who has felt the pain of loss and heartache.

I did really enjoy this while I was reading it, but now I remember very little. I read this when the whole shelter in place thing was really starting and I was having a difficult time paying attention. I should have actually written down the discussion questions & answers. But yes, it was a good book and I recommend it.
