A mix of memoir and theory, Kahn does a great job of walking the reader through the history of social movements in this country. We learn about his personal experience and how that can be applied on a larger scale or in our own lives. There are lots of useful insights on community building and what it takes to sustain those communities. It is a hopeful, encouraging book that makes it feel like progressive victories are possible.
