First of all, I knew nothing about this book. I just saw the cover and the title and thought, hmmm, this looks beautiful and the name is cute, so I decided to give it a try. And ohhh, what a sweet story it turned out to be!
Even though the love between Millie and Finn started to shine pretty early on, it still took some time—and a good old slow burn—for them to truly get together. Finn was this grumpy astronomer who never seemed to smile, but once Millie became part of his life, he showed his true colors. He wasn’t really grumpy at all—he was just grieving, hurting, and trying to take care of his two little nieces.
Millie, on the other hand, was bright and full of joy, like a light in their lives, even though she carried her own past and broken pieces. Together, they were so adorable I wanted to cry. And the girls added an extra dose of sweetness to the story.
I also loved that the book didn’t shy away from heavier topics—like loss and abusive relationships. It’s not all hearts and flowers, but that depth makes the story so much more powerful.
So yes—you should definitely pick this one up. It’s such a wonderful read!
