This book was previously titled Dark Passion. Where do I start first off, I read this in one sitting I could not put it down. Willow has a rough upbringing, one night she decides to go out, when a guy buys her drinks. Before she realises what's happening he's taking her outside and she passes out. Her captor is the leader of a band of brothers and is keeping Willow captive till he gets some information from her father. But Willow's father died three years ago. Throughout the story Willow will need to figure out who to trust but the twist and cliffhanger is definitely unexpected.

First of all in super mad right now because I didn't pay attention that this book is part of a serie and it would break me by ending on a cliffy but not a simple one . No a major Cliffhanger

I was drawn to this book by the new revised book cover. It is beautiful. This book did have the elements to be a really good book. Sadly, I just was not drawn to it as much as I had hoped to be.

Despite not really finding a strong emotional connection towards the characters in this book, I did still find it to be a quick read for me. When it came to Jagger, I was not feeling his bad boy persona turn good guy. He came off more as a jerk in the story. A big part of this is that he and Willow did not interact much in the begging other than when Jagger was being mean to Willow. Despite his horrible treatment of Willow, she still felt an attraction to him.

I was not really convinced of their attraction. Plus, Willow seemed to come off a bit whiny for me. I would give this author another try with another book but probably not going to continue this series.

Thank you @valentine_pr_ for allowing me to review this book. I read this in two days because there was so much happening. If you don’t know me than you will want to know that I don’t enjoy leaving my characters in bad spots. I just feel for them and if be honest - I won’t sleep.

We meet our tortured soul Willow. She comes from a rough background. She gets kidnapped at a bar, well I mean she gets drugged at a bar and taken away. Either way, she’s kidnapped.

There we meet Jagger and his band of brothers. Jagger is also our torture soul too. He is the grumpy. Within the book, I have mix reviews about Jagger. I still do because of the mind fuck and cliffhanger I am currently left on.

Beware; you don’t mind waiting. I’m currently on the cliff wondering what is going on.

I throughly enjoyed it. It was a faster read for me - so I say that it’s a positive.

Tropes: Enemies to Lovers, Kidnapping, Grumpy MC, Mental Health, Dark Romance, Good Girl x Bad Boy, Self Harming/Suicide

This was so good! Short read and I was hooked from Page 1. I cannot wait for the next one.

Willow has not had a easy life, and after the death of her father and dealing with her mentally unstable mother, she didn’t know what to do anymore. She goes out with friends and meets a gorgeous man who draws attention to her and buys her a drink. Before she knows it, she sees black and awakes in a cell.

She learns her father is not who he seemed, and also notices her capture is anything but a monster..

Ugh the cliffhanger!

3.5 stars!

This had so much drama and intensity, it was DELIGHTFUL. oh, AND THE ANGST. GodDAMN. I really enjoyed Willow's character. She seemed so realistic and honestly a badass. She had tenacity which I appreciate in a main character. Jagger was the stereotypical anti-hero, but he was very appealing and interesting to me.

I couldn't particular connect with Jagger and Willow. They had that intensity, but the chemistry was lacking for me, which sucked and made me less invested. However, this story was truly a wild ride and that ending kind of killed me, tbh, and I am really excited for the next one!

Also, that cover is just so pretty. I am such a sucker for floral covers.

I wish goodreads would let me give half stars because this one was 3.5 for me.

The writing was exceptional and I am a sucker for the kidnapping trope. I loved the blackmail aspect of the whole thing.
Willow is something fierce and never stops fighting to get free. There were many times I got some major Beauty and the Beast plot vibes and I loved it!

There were things missing...for me. I wanted better reactions from the other members of the brotherhood and the ending felt like it came out of nowhere.

But overall it was a great story with lots of spice, fierce FMC's and angst which is all I need in a good book!

I'm gonna jump right in and say that I expected a lot more of Bella Jewel because I heard so many great things about her books from other readers. It seriously lacked in character developement, dialogue, story, writing and chemistry between the two main characters. I usually love a good dark romance but this was not it for me, sadly enough.

Jagger & Willow are so hot! I loved both characters so much and the ending…OMG!!! Jagger is the head of a local gang and he kidnaps Willow. He is hoping that by kidnapping Willow, it will cause someone she knows to come out of hiding so he can get information from them. Willow is innocent and doesn’t understand why she is suddenly in danger. There is a lot of uncover but she is determined to understand what’s going on. I really enjoyed this book and CANNOT wait till the next book comes out soon!!
