Leave it to Christina Hovland to make me laugh and fall in love! This novella has all the feels and its swoon worthy hero impossible not to fall for. Meet Kenzie, a movie star trying to pull her career up. Falling into the lap of Tucker, a rock and roll cowboy may be the ticket for her. He has always kept his reputation in tact and he could be the answer to her prayers. These two pretend to be together as a media ploy, but what happens is unexpected. Going to Colorado to celebrate Christams with Tucker's family proves to be the best medicine for them both. Hovland uses humor and pure family love and fun to bring this story to life. Not only are Kenzie and Tucker fantastic, but the family makes the holiday a wonderful celebration.

Narrated by Stella Hunter and Connor Crais, the story flows. Casting is so important and these two fit their characters and brought all the warmth to the story. Their comedic timing is spot on. Hunter nails Kenzie. She emotes her personality letting us feel her love, and her back pedaling guilt. Crais has a charismatic sound and gives Tucker a warmth that is so appealing. Loved their performance.

Fun, flirty read with heart. Perfect for a quick escape. The Mile High Matched books featured great characters, lots of laughs and fantastic romance.

A short, sweet, funny romantic read. This can be read quickly in one evening, but you might want to slow down and savor it.

Tucker and Kenzie had great chemistry. I think Tucker's family was the high point of the book, especially his parents.

Kenzie found something in Tucker and his family she never had, while Tucker found something in Kenzie he thought he had lost.

A touch of romance, a bit of heat, and a lot of love.

Super sweet

This was such a cool story! I loved all the characters and the way it connected to the next book! I can’t wait to see what Hovland comes out with next!

A country singer who lost his words, and an actress who has some recent less than pleasant reviews find themselves in a fake relationship to fix their public image. When Kenzie ends up at Tucker’s for Christmas she might just have found the family she’s always wanted.

Kenzie wasn't happy with some throwaway comments Tucker made and when she confronts him, she trips into his lap leading to some compromising photos. So their PR decides a fake relationship for the public for a while can help salvage the backlash.

Kenzie didn't expect to spend the holidays with Tucker, but it gives her time to convince him to write a song for her new movie. She doesn't know that he hasn't been able to write and retirement is his only option.

Tucker didn't expect his relationship with Kenzie to bring the words.

Mackenzie Bennett: Red, Green Eyed
Tucker McKay: Black, Blue Eyed
Setting: Collbran, Colorado
Tag(s): Romance, Contemporary
Content Rating: R
POV: Third Person
Smexy Level: Warm
Favorite Quote(s): N/A
Overall Opinion:
A PR relationship leads to a whirlwind romance that could sweep anyone off by their feet with how quick it was! Time after time without fail, an instant romance could ruin any series for me, unless it’s straight Erotica and this fit perfectly in that category. Sure there was not any real depth to the characters, realistic romance nor a decent storyline yet this would be a perfect fit for anyone looking for a quick and easy read to put you in the holiday mood.

A brief introduction of Brek from Book 1 of the series and gives a glimpse into Brek's life before he helped his sister. This is only the second book I've read by Hovland and I must say I am hooked. She is a definite must read author for me. I look forward to reading more of this series and her other works.

Tucker McKay is a semi-retired rock star who broke up with his rock band a few years ago due to the stress and pressures of losing his muse and writing abilities. He only has a few more weeks left in LA before retiring full time to his  Colorado ranch. He has to fulfill his last few obligations including being in a fake relationship with a woman he has lusted after from afar.

Mackenzie Bennett is America's Sweetheart, who is worried about slowly fading from the spotlight and becoming obscure even though she's tiring of acting. She has also been secretly writing screenplays for movies in her spare time but only showing them to her best friend and manager, Leah.  One embarrassing trip-up lands her face first in a man's crouch--a gorgeous, sexy man she blushes thinking about. And is now in a fake relationship with in an attempt to salvage her career. Too bad she falls for the sexy sweet cowboy with an incredible family.

Blurb:

A supercouple for Christmas.

Rock ‘n’ roll cowboy Tucker McKay’s muse has left the building. Returning to his roots at his Colorado ranch might be the inspiration he needs, and he’s done everything he can to ensure his reputation shines for his eventual return to the public eye, should his muse show up again. Ready to leave town, he’s not prepared for the paparazzi frenzy after a starlet falls face down on his lap at L.A.’s trendiest new night club.

America’s Sweetheart, Mackenzie Bennett’s career is on the rocks after a few lackluster movies damaged her studio appeal. She needs something to change, and fast. What she does not need is the firestorm that ensues after an ill-fated spill is caught on camera. Spending Christmas in Colorado with the man she publicly embarrassed is her only option to turn around the bad press.

While a fake relationship might drum up the publicity needed to save both of their careers, a small-town family Christmas may be just what they both need to figure out what truly matters… Buy Rock Hard Cowboy for a steamy, laugh-out-loud Christmas romance!

I'm not one for romance but I loved this short story. I thought it would be boring and filled with cliches and tropes I would hate but it did just about everything just right.

I would recommend to anyone who loves a short and sweet romance with a happy ending.
