I liked the story, the set up for what was going on in the world. It seemed to me, though, that this is more a first chapter of a book than a completed story. The ending was just too abrupt. Too much left unanswered.

I read and loved [b:The River|40216324|The River|Peter Heller|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1534803593l/40216324._SX50_.jpg|62446028] by same author, so thought it would nice to try this audible freebie, and although it wasn't bad it felt very young, and the ending was extremely abrupt. I normally don't mind and open ending but this was just too blunt. The narrator, Suzy Jackson, was amazing though, and I had to double check that this was really only one person doing all the voices.

Engrossing premise with a vivid narration style, but the story has an open "ending." Not sure why that was a choice as it was leading up to something good.

Interesting short story, from the point of a child, regarding what amounts to the end of the world as she knows it. No real conclusion, but easy enough to extrapolate an idea.

Though I did not enjoy the story, the narrator, Suzy Jackson, is phenomenal
