So beautiful and heart-wrenching, a book which makes you feel better and worse at the same time. My absolute favourite quote: "When your feet touch the ground, I'll be in space" <3

Fredrik Backman has once again torn my heart out of my chest and stomped on it. I am ugly crying.

If you want to get in a quick read in an hour or so, pick this one up BUT only if you're okay with being emotionally gutted.
Essentially, this novella offers a metaphor about dementia. The grandfather in the story is watching what is going on inside his head and it keeps getting smaller and smaller and messier and messier. He's afraid he's going to forget his deceased wife. He consistently mixes up his son and his grandson.
This book is told from the perspective of both the grandfather and grandson and it's beautiful but heart wrenching. You can pick this up for a quick read but remember that it packs a punch.

This is a book I don’t feel right putting a star rating on just because it is a representation of a condition that many families struggle with and putting a star rating on that kind of experience doesn’t feel right.
With that being said this was a gorgeous representation of an incredibly hard subject. The descriptions and prose along with the dialogue were beautifully executed and painted this condition as beautiful, heart wrenching, and terrifying all at once.
It’s a hard read but a short one and one I think everyone should experience at least once.

This novella is beautiful. It's 74 pages of beauty and sadness and I loved it. Parts of it hit very close to home, and it made me cry. I tabbed so many quotes while I was reading it, it's so well written and I know it will stick with me.
