I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a cute and cozy read with all the banter and the struggles of a new relationship forming.

Ahh cater at the beginning made me so mad with his playboy attitude. But in the end, I wouldn't consider anyone else for Olivia.

I am so happy that Olivia was able to overcome her fears even though it took a little while and was able to give Carter a chance.

I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series!!

There wasn’t anything super special about it. I just wanted a quick, cute sports romance. The ending wasn’t my favorite because it seemed super out of character for Beckett & Olivia. I still liked it overall.

I think I am entering my sports romance era?!?! This series has been popping up on my Kindle Unlimited for a minute so I decided to bite the bullet and jump on it! I really liked it. I liked the world building and all of the characters we got to meet that will have their own books (if they don't already). I LOVED Carter and Olivia. The immediate attraction and explosion and then backtracking to build into something more. Something long lasting. The build up was chef's kiss!!

Carter Beckett has it all. He is the star of the NHL. He has a different girl on his arm almost every night and of course they all understand he doesn't do relationships. Like ever. His heart is wrapped in a cage of steel. Nothing can crack it after his dad passed away. Nothing except her. The one girl who makes it clear she is not falling for his normal routine. She doesn't do one night stands. She only sleeps with people she is in a relationship with. But then she caves and they have their one night, but instead of Carter being ok with that. He is totally confused when Olivia wants to try to be friends and he is OK with that because he realizes he wants more with her. I liked the reality of his reactions to his feelings- how he was scared and reacted how he would have reacted before meeting Olivia. Just seemed relatable. Like when you meet your person you know things are going to be different. There is a before and an after. I liked reading about when Carter realized he was on the other side of after! So now he is in this kind of friend zone with the door open for more IF he is willing to cross it. But he is going to have to prove himself to Olivia. He is going to have to prove that he has changed and get her to wholeheartedly understand that she is enough for him.

Olivia is doing ok in life. She has a job she likes. She has her brother who isn't too far with the love of his life and their kids. She doesn't get to see her parents too much but that's ok because she moved across the country and met her BF. Her BF who is dating oh wait now engaged to the captain of the hockey team. Her BF who tells her under no circumstances is she to talk to or flirt with Carter Beckett. But then she meets him and MAN does she get it. He oozes confidence. But she has a little fun watching him fumble with words when she turns him down. But he isn't going away. Even after she tells him she won't go further with him unless they are something more. He does the unthinkable he tries to give her more the way he knows how. He opens the door to his life to her which he has never done before. He talks to her about his dad. He introduces her to the man who saved his life. She meets his sister AND his mom. But she has to be ok with how famous he is. Can she handle the spotlight and the fact that even when she goes to the bathroom women flock to him? Is she secure enough to know she is enough for him?

I liked how this was so much more than a hockey romance. Carter had some real walls up due to the grief he never wanted to feel again. He was just waiting for the right person to come along to give them ALLL the love he had in his big heart. I liked how Olivia fought herself and her attraction to Carter to stand behind what she believed in. I liked how they were vulnerable with each other, and I liked watching them become more. If you haven't read this series yet, I definitely recommend it, and from what I have read it looks like they only get better!

Favorite Parts:
- Carter calling Olivia out at the game so she is on the jumbotron
- How much Carter likes showering Olivia with his affection in public
- Skating together for the first time
- The fishing trip
- Their love for Oreos
- The picture of Olivia Carter gets printed
